Who You Are

Qualified and experienced Housing Lawyer / Solicitor, with a strong background in housing law. You are motivated and ready to take on a challenging role within a high-performing local authority, helping to support and shape the legal aspects of housing services that significantly affect the community. You are a proactive problem-solver with the ability to manage a large and varied caseload independently.

What the Job Involves

You will manage a busy caseload of over 50 complex housing litigation matters, including possession proceedings, anti-social behaviour injunctions, disrepair claims, and providing tenancy-related advice. You will also handle succession and other housing law matters. As a key member of the Legal Services team, you will report to the Principal Lawyer and collaborate closely with other legal and housing teams. The role offers a mix of remote and Westminster office-based work, providing flexibility and the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in London’s dynamic Westminster borough.

Skills

  • Qualified Solicitor or Legal Executive (ICLEX or Law Society membership)
  • Strong experience in housing law
  • Ability to manage a high-volume caseload
  • Excellent communication, drafting, and advocacy skills
  • Proactive, solution-focused legal problem-solving
