Who You Are

You are passionate about supporting young people and have a strong understanding of the challenges they face. With experience in youth work and a recognized Youth Work Qualification (Level 2) or willingness to achieve it, you excel at building positive, voluntary relationships with young people. You are committed to inclusivity, social justice, and creating a safe environment for youth development.

What the job involves

As a Youth Support Worker for Young Tower Hamlets, you will deliver and develop youth work sessions as part of the universal ‘safe spaces’ initiative across the borough. You will engage with young people aged 11-to-19 (up to 25 with special educational needs) through group activities and one-on-one conversations. Responsibilities include planning, delivering, and evaluating programs, as well as referring youth to additional services when necessary. You ensure that youth work embraces inclusivity and diversity, adhere to council policies, and participate in ongoing professional development. The role requires primarily evening and weekend work.
