Who You Are

As a Targeted Adviser, you possess an in-depth working knowledge of housing options and legislation, including the Housing Act 1996 as amended. You are experienced in providing advice and guidance in complex environments and demonstrate a customer-focused attitude, displaying empathy and a desire to resolve issues. Your ability to interpret complex legislation, build positive relationships, and understand customer needs sets you apart in delivering quality housing advice and support services.

What the Job Involves

Your role involves delivering a proactive, holistic, and personalized Housing Advice and Support service, aiming to prevent and relieve homelessness. You will manage caseloads and potentially supervise a small team to ensure service delivery within agreed standards. Responsibilities include providing advice on various housing-related areas, taking a casework approach to develop action/support plans, and forging collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. You'll assess eligibility for accommodation, make complex decisions, issue decision letters, and contribute to policy development, while managing individual accounts within agreed budgets.
