Senior Practitioner

Who You Are

You are a dedicated and experienced social worker with expertise in children’s social care. You have a deep understanding of the Children Act 1989 and other relevant legislation. As a professional, you are adept at managing complex cases and providing services to children in need of protection and those looked after by the authority.

What the Job Involves

As a Senior Practitioner, you will assess and provide services to children and families, managing intricate cases with professionalism. Your role includes maintaining high professional standards and promoting best practices within your team. Responsibilities include supervising some staff, managing a diverse caseload, and working with various stakeholders such as Council Departments, NHS trusts, schools, and other sector providers. You will also handle child protection and looked-after children cases, undertake key responsibilities towards children on the child protection register, and ensure the health and education needs of children are met. Furthermore, you will contribute to the overall development of practice, training, and promoting equal opportunities.
