Who You Are

We are seeking a passionate, motivated, and experienced Social Worker to join our Mental Health Team. You should be registered with Social Work England or your appropriate professional body. Experience in working within a health or social care setting is essential. You should possess excellent communication skills, demonstrate passion for integrated working, and have an understanding of effective community engagement and collaboration with partners.

What the job involves

The mental health social work team, dedicated to providing specialist services for adults over 18, supports individuals with severe and enduring mental health conditions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Undertaking assessments and determining care packages/support plans.
  • Managing a complex caseload to improve client well-being.
  • Coordinating and arranging care for service users with mental health issues, including dementia.
  • Working alongside Approved Mental Health Professionals and providing backup for the AMHP rota and Mental Health Act Assessments.
  • Supervising and supporting colleagues, including Level 2 social workers and unqualified staff.
  • Providing professional supervision and training, and supervising social work students.
  • Offering specialist advice to health colleagues and partnering with other agencies to protect individuals.

Skills

  • Qualified Social Worker with relevant degree
  • Minimum 2 years post-qualification experience
  • Expert knowledge of relevant legislation and guidelines
  • Excellent ICT and Microsoft application skills
  • Proficiency in multidisciplinary and partnership working
  • Strong assessment and investigation skills
  • Ability to manage complex cases and challenging client groups
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Experience in delivering professional training and supervision
