What the Job Involves
This full-time temporary position (approximately 4 months) as an Independent Child Protection Chair and Local Authority Designated Officer is an exciting opportunity within the Safeguarding & Quality Assurance Service. You will join an experienced and supportive team, ensuring your focus is on your primary role responsibilities. You'll handle dual allocations for children on Child Protection Plans, chair Initial & Review Conferences, and ensure effective information sharing and SMART Plans to manage risk and create positive outcomes. Additionally, you'll cover the LADO role on a duty system, making initial referral decisions and chairing Initial POT Meetings. The role requires you to securitise, challenge, and support both Social Care Teams and partners, with a focus on quality assurance.
Skills
- Experienced and qualified Social Worker with Management Experience
- Registered with Social Work England
- Strong knowledge of policy, legislation, and good practice
- Commitment to multi-agency working and child-focused practice
- Extensive experience in chairing complex and challenging meetings
- Ability to manage difficult conversations
- Strong quality assurance experience
