Who You Are
You are an experienced social worker with a professional qualification in social work, registered with Social Work England, and have a minimum of 4 years post-qualification experience. You are committed to making a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) and their families. You are knowledgeable about relevant legislation, policies, and practices related to child protection and care. You are empathetic, with strong communication and interpersonal skills, and are capable of managing a complex caseload while working collaboratively with colleagues, partners, and families.
What the Job Involves
The job involves undertaking person-centred social work and community care assessments for children and young adults with SEND or those in need of protection. You will be responsible for planning, assessment, and implementation of support services, case management, and regular review of care plans in accordance with policies and legislative frameworks. The role includes contributing to strategy development, providing professional advice, and delivering training. You are required to maintain accurate records, participate in multi-disciplinary meetings, and assist in the improvement and development of service processes and procedures.
