Role

Who You Are

You are an experienced legal professional with a background in local government prosecutions and criminal litigation. You have recent and relevant experience in handling cases pertaining to planning breaches, trading standards, and other enforcement related work. You are adept in litigation before the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber) concerning Housing Act 2004 matters, and you have a solid understanding of licensing matters related to the Licensing Act 2003 and Gambling Act 2005. Ideally, you possess over 2 years of post-qualification experience (PQE).

What the Job Involves

Your role involves supporting the Senior Prosecutions Lawyer by delivering a cost-effective, high-quality Prosecutions Service to the Council. You will provide advice and legal support in the areas of criminal law, local government law, and other allocated projects. Your expertise will contribute to the Council's prosecution efforts and ensure compliance with relevant legal standards.

  • Recent local government experience in prosecutions and criminal litigation
  • Experience prosecuting planning breaches and trading standards
  • Experience with enforcement related work
  • Experience in litigation before the First Tier Tribunal (Property Chamber)
  • Understanding of Housing Act 2004 matters
