Westminster City Council seeks an experienced and passionate Practice Manager to join the Adult Social Care team. As a senior member, you will play a crucial role in supporting social workers, managing complex cases, and ensuring care and safeguarding standards for adults in Westminster. The ideal candidate is a confident, knowledgeable social work professional who can lead by example, demonstrating a deep understanding of legal frameworks and collaborating effectively.
What the Job Involves
This vital position focuses on learning and development, promoting best practice, and ensuring compliance with statutory responsibilities. Key responsibilities include:
- Supporting learning and development of social workers and high-quality report writing.
- Providing expert guidance on complex cases, particularly involving the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Court of Protection.
- Acting as Duty Senior and Safeguarding Adult Manager on a rota basis.
- Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and reflective practice.
- Managing budgets and delivering plans responsibly.
Skills
- Qualified Social Worker with Social Work England registration.
- In-depth knowledge of the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and Court of Protection processes.
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and best practices in adult social work.
- Experience mentoring and supporting less experienced staff.
- Effective communication and collaboration with various stakeholders.
- Ability to manage competing priorities professionally and with empathy.
- Proficient in IT and report writing.
