What the Job Involves
As a Social Worker with the Slough Borough Council, you will hold a complex caseload, focusing on conducting assessments, care, support plans, and reviews in alignment with legislation and best practice. Your role will include supporting service users in self-assessments, facilitating service identification, engaging in safeguarding, liaising with professionals across sectors, and promoting preventative interventions. You’ll also handle Community DoLS assessments, process accommodation applications, and manage electronic records.
Skills
- Strong understanding of social work principles and legislation, including the Care Act and Mental Capacity Act
- Ability to manage complex caseloads
- Effective communication and relationship-building skills
- Proficiency in risk assessment and safeguarding practices
- Experience with electronic case management systems
- Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams
- Financial competency, particularly in support planning and compliance
