You are a qualified Chartered Engineer or a member of the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers, with significant experience, or hold a degree/Higher National Diploma in Building Services Engineering alongside substantial project leadership experience. What the Job Involves
As a Mechanical Engineer, you will provide professional mechanical engineering services, design and specify new mechanical systems, manage projects from inception to completion and act as a contract administrator. Key responsibilities include managing multiple projects simultaneously, representing the mechanical engineering team in various forums, delivering high standards of contract administration, and keeping up with new building standards. You will advise and assist technicians, represent senior mechanical engineers, and lead on procurement and design.
Skills
- Excellent technical knowledge of retrofit and new build mechanical installations
- Ability to manage communal heating, low carbon installations, and heat networks
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency in writing technical reports
- Creative problem-solving in engineering design and maintenance
- Exceptional project management and contract administration skills
- Competence in value engineering and cost-effective project delivery
- Knowledge of statutory regulations, codes of practice, and British Standards
