Who You Are

You are a qualified and registered Social Worker with post-qualification training or equivalent experience in a relevant field. You have a comprehensive understanding and appreciation of current social care legislation, safeguarding, mental capacity, and deprivation of liberty practices. Your experience demonstrates your ability to work with multiple agencies, providing holistic assessments and supporting people to achieve their goals and maximize their independence. You have a proven track record in overseeing complex cases and providing effective line management support, including handling high-risk situations and ensuring sound clinical decision-making. You possess excellent interpersonal, communication, and relationship management skills, alongside strong numeracy and IT competence.

What the Job Involves

As a Deputy Team Manager Social Worker, you will support the Team Manager in delivering a comprehensive social work and occupational therapy service, ensuring high-quality, strength-based, person-centered services. Your role involves managing and supervising a team of social care practitioners, providing expert guidance, managing performance, and coordinating training and development plans. You will oversee assessments, support planning, and safeguarding processes, ensuring compliance with statutory frameworks. You will also support triage and enquiries within the OPPD Contact Team, undertaking screenings, coordinating safeguarding enquiries, and applying a Making Safeguarding Personal (MSP) approach. Participation in multi-agency meetings, strategy discussions, and case conferences is part of your role, alongside contributing to audits and quality assurance processes. Maintaining accurate records and promoting reflective practice and continued learning within the team are key responsibilities.
