You are politically aware and able to work flexibly, demonstrating initiative and discretion as needed.
What the job involves
This role involves providing administrative and secretarial support to the Leader of the Council and Cabinet members. Duties include coordinating business activities, managing correspondence and telephone queries, organizing meetings, managing diaries, and ensuring the effective flow of communication and follow-up actions. You will draft replies to correspondence, prepare agendas and briefing papers, and support meetings by producing action notes. Additionally, you'll oversee the Leader’s office administrative systems, manage casework, and supervise the Administrative Officer. You will also assist Democratic and Electoral Services when needed and attend relevant evening meetings.
