Who You Are
As part of Sefton's Youth Justice Service, you are committed to collaborating with partners to help children thrive and keep them safe. You prioritize understanding children's individual needs and ensuring they are seen as children above all else. You are dedicated to preventing children from entering the criminal justice system and aiding them in making positive changes when they do. You are responsible for safeguarding, promoting welfare, managing risk and vulnerability, and protecting the public while serving the sentence, thus maintaining the Department and Council's reputation.
What the Job Involves
You will hold lead responsibility for children’s cases, coordinating interventions and support for a complex and varied caseload. You will assess children's needs and risks, deliver services and interventions, and devise multi-agency intervention plans. Your role includes direct work with children and families, critical decision-making, preparing reports, representing the Youth Justice Service at meetings, ensuring data accuracy, and participating in service development and learning exercises. You will also be responsible for supporting the supervision of student placements and taking thematic leads as designated by management.
Skills
- Knowledge of Criminal Justice System, legislation and practice
- Experience with direct work and intervention plans for at-risk youth

- Strong verbal and written communication skills
