What the Job Involves

As a Transport Officer, you will join the Home to School Transport team, supporting the transportation of over 1000 children to school each day through taxis, minibusses, and bus passes. This three-month role involves covering for two officers and requires determining transport entitlement in line with changing statutory and local policies. You will process social care transport applications, collaborate with social workers and the procurement officer to ensure timely transport arrangements for students from foster placements, and assist with Stage one and Stage two appeal paperwork. Additionally, you will handle phone inquiries from various customers, including parents, passenger assistants, transport operators, and schools.
