Who You Are
You are a qualified Property Lawyer, admitted as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives with rights of audience in County Court proceedings. You possess significant experience in advocacy within local government settings, both in County and Magistrates' Courts, and are adept at handling the full spectrum of residential and commercial property work. You combine excellent written and verbal communication skills with a commitment to providing quality legal services, underpinned by a “can do” attitude and a strong sense of responsibility.
What the Job Involves
In this role, you will be responsible for performing various conveyancing tasks for the Council, including handling complex acquisitions and disposals, and dealing with sales to Council tenants. You will ensure compliance with authority protocols, handle easements and restrictive covenants, and manage compulsory purchase orders. You'll be involved in research and preparation for inquiries and serve notices required under landlord and tenant legislation. Additionally, you will participate in service planning, financial management, and continuous improvement initiatives, often collaborating with internal and external contacts, ranging from Council members to government agencies.
