Who You Are
As a Legal Clerk in the Child Care Team within the Commercial and Change Directorate, you should have a good level of education to at least GCSE standard or equivalent, including English and Maths at Grade ‘C’ or above. Experience of office systems and computer applications such as MS Office is essential, along with at least 6 months experience in an office environment, preferably legal. You should be committed to maintaining personal and professional development, willing to undertake appropriate training, and capable of handling sensitive material in a confidential manner. A valid driver's license and reliable internet connection are also required.
What the Job Involves
This role involves providing clerical and administrative support to the Child Care Team and the wider division as needed. Responsibilities include maintaining the system for interim order renewals, preparing legal bundles for proceedings, managing communications via letters and phone, maintaining electronic and paper diaries, and supporting practice management systems. You will also assist with the preparation and distribution of documents, handle visitor enquiries, maintain records, organize meetings, and contribute to the improvement of office procedures and practices. Co-ordinating solicitor attendance at Child Protection Conferences and maintaining relevant databases are also key tasks.
