What the Job Involves
The role of a Support Worker in Disabilities Accommodation Services involves supporting adults with disabilities to achieve their personal goals and enhance their quality of life. You will participate in care planning, promote equality and independence, and facilitate community engagement activities. You will provide both physical and emotional support, including personal care and ensuring the safeguarding of vulnerable adults. Flexibility is key, as the services operate across seven days, requiring availability during evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

- NVQ Level 2 or above
- Manual handling
- Safe handling and administering of medication
- Food hygiene and infection control
- Epilepsy awareness and safeguarding adults
- Experience with challenging behaviours and collaborative working
- Effective communication across diverse stakeholders
- Planning and support for client activities
- Report writing and information recording
- Understanding of Valuing People Now and person-centred approaches
