What the job involves
The role involves providing comprehensive support to adults with disabilities, focusing on both physical and emotional care. This includes supporting individuals in planning and achieving their personal goals, fostering relationships, and ensuring their well-being. You will work collaboratively to organize and lead community activities, while adhering to organizational policies and safeguarding practices. Flexibility in working hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, is necessary as part of a vibrant supported living service.
Skills
- NVQ Level 2 qualification (Level 3 desirable)
- Ability to handle and administer medication safely
- Competence in manual handling and personal care
- Awareness and management of epilepsy and challenging behaviors
- Strong communication skills across various stakeholders
- Knowledge of personalisation and person-centred approaches
- Experience in social care and understanding economic factors
- Ability to write concise reports and record information accurately
- Experience working with learning disabilities
