Role

Who You Are

An accomplished and qualified legal professional with expertise in adult safeguarding law. You possess at least 2 years of post-qualification experience in various areas such as Court of Protection proceedings, safeguarding, mental health, homelessness, and other adult social care legal matters. You are a team player who communicates effectively with stakeholders, collaborates constructively, and builds a culture of trust within your team.

What the Job Involves

As a Lawyer specializing in Adults Safeguarding, you'll handle a diverse legal caseload with a focus on adult social care issues. You'll provide comprehensive legal services to the Council, schools, and local authority trading companies. Responsibilities include advocacy, advising client officers, preparing reports, conducting research, supporting team managers, mentoring colleagues, and occasionally attending committee meetings. You'll ensure high standards in your work to deliver value for money and effective service to clients.

Skills

  • Qualified Solicitor, Barrister, or CILEX
  • Experience in adult social care law
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Competence in legal case management
  • Research and legal advice proficiency
  • Ability to draft legal documentation
  • Advocacy skills
  • Understanding of local government law (desirable)
