Who You Are
The Building Safety Coordinator is a key player in ensuring the safety and compliance of high-rise residential buildings within our council housing stock. You will be community-focused, working both individually and as part of a team, to contribute to the development and smooth running of these areas, adhering to local policies, procedures, and legislation. Your role centers around maintaining safety, engaging residents, and ensuring necessary documentation for the person-centered fire risk assessments (PCFRA) is up to date.
What the Job Involves
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring all buildings comply with relevant health & safety legislation, including the Building Safety Act.
- Risk Assessments: Conducting regular safety inspections of communal areas, identifying hazards, and reporting them for remedial action.
- Documentation Management: Maintaining PCFRA records and ensuring all paperwork is current and accessible.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Working closely with housing management, maintenance teams, and external contractors for safety tasks.
- Resident Communication: Acting as a point of contact for residents, providing information and support on safety measures.
- Business administration support within the Estate Operations Team.
Skills
- Ability to converse in accurate spoken English with the public
- Experience in regular face-to-face engagement and customer service
- Knowledge of health and safety and resident safety regulations
- Experience managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Experience of maintaining partnerships
- Knowledge of housing law and building safety act 2022 (desirable)
