Who You Are
As an experienced social worker, you will have significant experience in social work, particularly with adults and their carers to improve well-being and promote independence. You are adept at using community resources, family and natural networks to create sustainable care packages. You have experience in mentoring and possibly in practice education or supervision. You bring specialist knowledge of social work theories and legislation, with a commitment to act in accordance with Worcestershire County Council's values of customer focus, a can-do culture, and freedom within boundaries.
What the Job Involves
The role involves working with adults with complex needs using a strength-based approach to support independence and well-being. You will act as a point of contact, assess needs, and direct individuals to appropriate services. The job entails working with multi-disciplinary teams, maintaining statutory and best-practice compliance with laws like the Care Act 2014. Your responsibilities will include safeguarding, creating support plans, making informed judgements for your decisions, and representing the authority in various scenarios. You will also engage in advocacy, mentoring peers, and possibly represent the service at court as needed.
