Registered Manager
Cardiff Council
Role
Who You Are
An opportunity has emerged at Cardiff Council Children’s Services for a dedicated and temporary Registered Manager to oversee one of our Children’s Homes. The role demands an individual capable of working with some of our most vulnerable children and young people, ensuring their needs are met with a strengths-based and trauma-informed approach. You must be suitably qualified, holding a Level 5 Diploma in leadership for Health & Social Care Services (Children and Young People’s Registered Management) Wales & NI, and registered with Social Care Wales. Significant experience in a Residential Child Care setting at a management level is required. A positive outlook, effective management techniques, and experience in implementing change and service development are essential. A full valid driving licence and sole use of a vehicle are required, as some out-of-hours work may be needed.
What the Job Involves
The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent leadership and management skills, ensuring regulatory standards are met for providing high-quality care to residents for up to 12 weeks. The role aims to understand the needs of the children and secure appropriate pathways or placements. You will need to meet the requirements of The Regulated Services Regulations. Duties include effective leadership of day-to-day home activities, building strong relationships with stakeholders, developing a culture of lifelong learning, and managing resources and performance within Cardiff’s in-house residential provision.
