What the Job Involves
This role involves managing sickness absence to minimize levels and ensure they are handled fairly and effectively. You will help outline and enforce procedures for reporting, recording, and monitoring absences, and work with managers and employees to address absences, especially those prolonged or frequent. Your role will support individuals with disabilities, medical conditions, or injuries to either remain at work or return as quickly as possible. You will also oversee the application of associated policies such as the Managing Performance Policy and Managing Conduct Policy where relevant to attendance issues.
Skills
- Understanding of HR policies and attendance management
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to apply policies fairly and consistently
- Knowledge of the Equality Act 2010 and other relevant legislation
- Experience in conducting return-to-work interviews
- Proficiency in maintaining confidential records
- Ability to liaise and seek guidance from HR Operations
