Who You Are

You are a dedicated Forensic Social Worker with a passion for mental health care and justice. As an Approved Mental Health Practitioner (AMHP), you'll bring expert knowledge in mental health legislation and have experience working with vulnerable individuals, including mentally disordered offenders. You're committed to supporting individuals in the community through collaboration with a multi-agency partnership, contributing to personalized care plans and assessments.

What the Job Involves

The role consists of providing a high-standard social work service to adults in the community, working within the statutory requirements and departmental policies. You'll be part of the Adult Social Work Mental Health Team, participating in the AMHP rota and undertaking Mental Health Act Assessments. The job involves handling complex cases, working closely with multi-disciplinary teams, leading assessments of social care needs, and developing support plans that maximize choice, control, and independence for service users. You will also be expected to provide leadership and mentoring, partake in service planning and improvement initiatives, manage financial resources, and ensure compliance with the legislative framework.

Skills

• Expert knowledge of the Mental Health Act 1983, Care Act 2014, and Mental Capacity Act 2005
• Skilled in multidisciplinary collaboration and partnerships
• Experience in case management and report writing
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly
• High-level organizational and time-management skills
• Proficient in coaching, training, and providing supervision
• Experience with using Case Management systems
• Proven ability to work independently and manage complex caseloads
