Who You Are
You are a dedicated and skilled grounds maintenance professional with a proactive approach to work. You have experience in gardening or similar duties and can work effectively both independently and in a team. You possess a strong understanding of health and safety regulations and are capable of using various tools and machinery. Additionally, you are comfortable interacting with colleagues and the public and can communicate effectively in both Welsh and English.
What the Job Involves
The role of a Grounds Operative involves providing high-quality maintenance services in public parks, schools, playing fields, and other open spaces. Responsibilities include general maintenance tasks such as grass cutting, hedge trimming, and sports area upkeep. You will also be involved in cleaning activities, equipment inspection, and applying pesticides according to guidelines. The role requires minimal supervision and involves directing trainees and other staff members as needed. You will ensure safety and compliance with departmental health and safety policies and be responsible for the condition and usability of all machinery and tools.
