Who You Are

You are a qualified Social Worker with HCPC registration and a commitment to continued professional development. You have a deep understanding of legislation, statutory guidance, and best practices in social work, particularly focusing on safeguarding, mental capacity, and deprivation of liberty. You possess experience in direct, complex social work with adults, managing and supervising staff, and working within multidisciplinary teams. You are dedicated to promoting equality, diversity, and service improvement within a health and social care context.

What the Job Involves

As the Deputy Team Manager for the Learning Disability 25+ service, you will work alongside the Team Manager to deliver a comprehensive and effective social work service according to current legislation, council policy, and best practices. You will manage complex cases, develop tailored care packages for vulnerable adults, and provide professional guidance to your team in complex assessments and case management. Your role includes supervising a cohort of social care practitioners, setting objectives, performing appraisals, and conducting performance management. You will coordinate the most complex and high-profile cases, facilitating smooth transitions for service users, and ensuring high-quality, customer-focused services. Additionally, you will lead service developments, provide mentoring to less experienced staff, and implement new practice initiatives.
