You are a detail-oriented professional with a background in Building Surveying or a related field, possessing at least five years of experience in building safety, fire safety, or building surveying. You are knowledgeable about current regulations and legislation affecting building safety, especially concerning external wall systems and cladding in residential high-rises. With strong communication and IT skills, you excel in collaborative environments and are committed to ensuring the safety of building residents.
What the Job Involves
This role involves working closely with internal enforcement officers and external stakeholders to support the Private Sector Building Safety Programme, focusing on fire safety risks related to external wall systems in residential buildings. Your responsibilities include reviewing and evaluating data on potentially unsafe cladding, developing risk-based inspection programmes, and working collaboratively to mitigate risks. You will engage with building proprietors, local authorities, and stakeholders to address fire safety deficiencies and participate in continuous improvement initiatives. The job requires both fieldwork inspections and office-based reporting and administration.
