Who You Are
You are a dedicated individual with a professional qualification in social work, probation, youth and community work, health, or education. You have experience working with challenging and hard-to-engage children and young people, and possess a deep understanding of both the causes of crime and the youth justice system, including safeguarding and risk management.
What the Job Involves
This role involves working as part of a multi-agency team to prevent offending by children and young people. You will supervise statutory orders, ensure compliance with court sentences, prepare and present reports, and collaborate with various agencies to support young people remanded to local authority accommodation. You will also work with young offenders within the Secure Estate and facilitate their resettlement, acting as an Appropriate Adult during PACE interviews. Managing a caseload, conducting thorough assessments, developing risk management plans, and delivering targeted interventions are key components of this role. Additionally, you will engage in restorative justice opportunities and contribute to service improvement through accurate record-keeping and multi-agency collaboration.
