Who You Are

As a Senior Food Safety Officer, you have a degree-level education enabling effective communication and handling complex work. You hold a minimum baseline qualification for food hygiene official controls and meet the competency requirements of the Food Law Code of Practice for an Authorized Officer. Demonstrating three years of professional experience in environmental health or licensing is essential. You have existing technical knowledge of the relevant legislation and processes, excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, and a commitment to equality, inclusivity, and collaboration.

What the Job Involves

You will provide technical professional services aimed at protecting and improving health and well-being in the Borough. Your responsibilities include reporting to the Food Safety Team Leader, participating in food safety operations, investigating food premises, enforcing legal standards, and providing advice to clients. Additionally, you will conduct inspections, prepare reports, and work on projects related to food hygiene and health and safety. Developing knowledge-sharing initiatives, delivering training, and ensuring quality service delivery are key roles. You also engage with external partners and stakeholders and maintain customer care and confidentiality in accordance with council values.
