You should have experience in ensuring that buildings comply with regulatory standards in safety, sustainability, accessibility, and design. You are comfortable working independently as well as part of a team, with the ability to influence, support others, and represent the Partnership effectively.
What the job involves
The job involves supporting the Building Control Service and the Management Team in effectively delivering the Building Control function throughout North Yorkshire. You will undertake technical assessments and make decisions to ensure compliance with health, safety, sustainability, and design standards. Responsibilities include managing a caseload of developments, carrying out inspections, initiating enforcement actions, and maintaining accurate records. The role also involves liaising with external agencies and providing customer service. You will be expected to pursue personal development and support the building control department as required.
