Who You Are
As a Planner for the London Borough of Lambeth, you are a proactive and motivated professional who is committed to delivering a high-quality, customer-focused planning service. You hold an RTPI-recognised degree in Town Planning or an equivalent qualification and have a sound knowledge of planning legislation and policies. You are experienced in development control, providing planning advice, and processing various applications. You have strong collaborative skills, act with integrity, and are positively committed to the borough's success.
What the Job Involves
This role involves efficiently managing planning applications, inquiries, and development control issues. You will negotiate with applicants and developers, write reports, draft statements of evidence, conduct public participation exercises, and provide advice on planning matters. You will represent the Council in public meetings, maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws, plan and prioritize work, and tackle racism while promoting good community relations. Depending on your grade, you will also handle larger changes and more complex applications, including preparing and presenting evidence for appeals and inquiries.
Skills
