You are a dedicated cook with experience in preparing and serving meals that cater to diverse dietary, cultural, and religious needs. You possess strong supervisory skills and focus on maintaining high hygiene standards within a fast-paced and busy kitchen environment. You are proactive in managing budgets while providing varied and balanced menus that meet the needs of children and staff in a children’s centre.
What the job involves
The role involves purchasing, preparing, cooking, and serving meals at a children’s centre. You will ensure meals are balanced and meet the dietary, cultural, and religious needs of all clients and staff. Key responsibilities include acting as a key holder, preparing meals and snacks, ordering supplies, maintaining hygiene standards, monitoring budgets, and collaborating with centre managers regarding menus. You will supervise kitchen assistants, ensuring health and safety compliance within the kitchen, and address ad hoc needs as they arise in a demanding work environment.
