Job Description: Director of Public Health

Who You Are

You are a seasoned health professional with a minimum of three years of public health practice at a senior level. You have a passion for improving health outcomes and addressing health inequalities. Your expertise includes high-level understanding of epidemiology, statistics, public health practice, health promotion, and healthcare evaluation. You are adept at navigating complex political and social environments, and you demonstrate a deep understanding of the relationships and organizational cultures that influence health determinants.

What the Job Involves

As the Director of Public Health, you will be the statutory Chief Officer responsible for leading the health and wellbeing agenda for the Council and local community. The role involves being the principal advisor on health matters to elected members, officers, and partners, with strategic leadership in health improvement, health protection, and healthcare public health. You will visibly lead Hillingdon Health and Care Partnership (HHCP), manage public health resources, and influence resource allocation to address health inequalities. Additionally, you will engage and work with local communities to create solutions for health challenges and report the progress through annual and monthly reports.
