Job Description: Advanced Practitioner

Who You Are

You are an experienced and autonomous social worker with substantial post-qualifying experience, particularly in statutory Children's Social Care settings. You will exhibit expert and effective practice in complex situations, assessing and managing higher risk levels. You are expected to have a Practice Educator Award or achieve it within the first year of employment. Your professional qualifications include registering with the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) and possessing a recognized professional Social Work Qualification such as DipSW or CQSW.

What the Job Involves

This role involves providing a comprehensive and effective integrated social work service within a Resilience framework, responding to the needs of children and their families in complex situations. You will take a lead role in a specialist area, act as a deputy for the line manager when needed, and support/mentor less experienced social workers. Detailed responsibilities include managing caseloads, ensuring all statutory responsibilities for children are fulfilled, delivering high-quality assessments and reports, acting as a Research and Evidence Fellow, and participating actively in the Workforce Development Programme.
