Who You Are

You are based in the Plymouth City Council Area and are committed to assisting children and young adults, primarily with additional needs, during their school or college transport journeys. You are adaptable and available for variable hours, ready to provide supportive and reliable cover for regular Passenger Assistants. You are prepared to take on short or longer cover assignments with the understanding of being contacted on short notice.

What the job involves

As a Passenger Assistant, you will accompany children and young adults, typically with additional needs, on their transport to and from educational institutions. Your role covers morning and afternoon shifts (07:00-10:00 and 14:00-17:00) across weekdays, providing cover on an as-needed basis. This can include both half-day and longer assignments. You will support students in navigating their school journeys throughout Plymouth and into Devon and Cornwall, enhancing your experience and knowledge through engaging interactions with diverse students. A ‘classroom’ training day will precede any travel, followed by practical experience alongside an experienced PA.
