Who You Are

We are looking for a Financial Assessment Administrative Assistant to join our Financial Assessment operational support team within the Resource Directorate. The ideal candidate will thrive in a high-paced working environment and excel in a collaborative team setting. You will be responsible for post and emails concerning Financial Assessment, Income, and Debt teams. You should have a customer-focused approach and the ability to work effectively with various teams across the Council. Knowledge of Civica is an advantage.

What the Job Involves

  • Provide high-quality administrative and finance support to ensure efficient, customer-focused service delivery.
  • Support day-to-day financial, clerical, and administrative functions for smooth team operations.
  • Maintain effective administrative and information management systems.
  • Provide administrative support at team meetings by taking notes and preparing draft records.
  • Use relevant databases for data input and interrogation.
  • Handle customer enquiries, ensuring resolution and adequate audit trails.
  • Ensure data compliance with Data Protection/Freedom of Information regulations.
  • Provide customer care-focused reception services and handle difficult enquiries diplomatically.
  • Refer visitors/service users to suitable communication methods, if needed.
  • Attend service meetings, offering ideas for procedural improvements.
  • Participate in and support a project team for successful project completion.
  • Advise and train colleagues on specialist activities and systems.
  • Responsible for handling service users’ monies and financial processes.
  • Ensure proper use of the Council’s electronic procurement system for goods and services.
  • Support Health and Safety checks and audits.
  • Manage own performance, learning, and development efficiently.
  • Promote Council’s Equality and Diversity, Health and Safety, and safeguarding policies.
