Job Description: Experienced Social Worker
Who You Are
We are seeking applications from experienced social workers confident in completing assessments for adoption support, providing support to both adopters and children with a plan of adoption. You will be working under the guidance of the Health and Care Professional Council (HCPC) standards, ensuring compliance with legal, organizational, and multi-agency requirements. You possess developed expertise in one or more areas of practice and are familiar with local resources, recognized as a source of reliable knowledge and advice by peers.
What the Job Involves
The position involves managing a caseload independently, undertaking community care and safeguarding assessments of complex cases, and appropriately managing risks. You will provide information and support to individuals, families, carers, and communities, ensuring access to universal services. The role includes liaising with colleagues in various departments and external agencies, critically analyzing information, and undertaking statutory duties relating to safeguarding concerns. Providing expert opinion within the organization and maintaining case notes, preparing reports, and giving evidence in court proceedings are also essential functions of the job.
Skills
- Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work; DipSW)
- Registered with the HCPC
- Experience in leading a multi-agency team
- Knowledge of legislation relevant to Children and Families and Adults
- Proven experience of working with carers
- Experience across a range of statutory work including assessment, planning, safeguarding, and court work
- Organizational skills and ability to manage conflicting priorities
- Experience in providing advice and undertaking assessments on financial support
- Sound assessment and interviewing skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Experience of working with partner agencies
