Who You Are
You are an experienced finance leader with a strong background in public sector finance, preferably with CCAB/CIMA qualification. You possess excellent stakeholder management and communication skills and have a comprehensive understanding of statutory financial frameworks. You have successfully led financial planning across complex, multi-functional organisations and are familiar with the challenges of Combined Authority funding, as well as emergency services finance.
What the Job Involves
The Assistant Director – Finance and Resources will lead the Finance and Resources function for the Combined Authority, acting as Deputy Section 73 Officer. Your role involves developing strategic financial plans, ensuring robust governance, and managing resources effectively to support regional ambitions. You will provide oversight of financial processes for the Authority’s responsibilities as a Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner and Fire and Rescue Authority. Key responsibilities include strategic finance leadership, embedding corporate governance frameworks, integrating financial planning with workforce strategies, and stakeholder engagement.
