VAT ACCOUNTANT

Who You Are

You are an experienced VAT Accountant with a detailed knowledge of VAT in local authorities. Additionally, you possess an understanding of public sector financial management requirements and current local government finance issues. You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and can effectively manage complex financial tasks and relationships with various stakeholders.

What the Job Involves

You will be part of a team providing financial management support to Council service managers in Knowsley. Your primary focus is to provide specialist VAT advice to Council clients, manage all VAT-related aspects of the Council's operations, and ensure sound financial management. Key duties include advising on VAT aspects of projects, managing the Council's VAT and tax planning, and supporting strategic financial reporting. You will represent the team in meetings, manage client relations, and produce high-quality financial reports. This role combines home and office-based work, with Tuesdays required at the Council Offices in Huyton.
