Who You Are

You are someone with a background in building surveying, ideally holding an HND/C or BSc in Building, with substantial post-qualification experience. You're adept at managing technical caseloads and are knowledgeable about legal disrepair legislation. You have a good understanding of building failures such as damp and structural issues, especially within social housing contexts. You are organized, proactive, and possess strong communication skills, utilized effectively in both small and large meetings, including court appearances.

What the Job Involves

The Legal Repairs Surveyor is responsible for managing a caseload of live disrepair claims, party wall awards, and repair diagnostics. The role involves carrying out site inspections, creating detailed specifications, and managing repair contracts from specification to completion. You will offer technical advice, develop team policies, and oversee quality assurance checks. While largely office-based, you will also visit sites for inspections and work with various stakeholders, including contractors, colleagues, and legal teams, to ensure effective management of legal repair processes and compliance with legal standards.
