With a focus on using a 'whole family' approach, you aim to prevent the need for statutory services and help families access universal services. You are committed to safeguarding children and young people and possess a strong understanding of promoting anti-discriminatory practices.
What the Job Involves
As an Outreach Family Support Worker, you will take whole case responsibility for complex cases stepping down from children’s social care. Your role includes completing early help assessments, creating support plans, chairing Team Around the Family meetings, and implementing and reviewing intervention plans. You will provide intensive, targeted support to vulnerable children, young people, and their families, aiming to improve outcomes and prevent the escalation of concerns. Your tasks may also involve facilitating parenting strategies, maintaining effective records, and actively engaging service users to elicit their views.
Skills
- Experience with early help assessments and support plans
- Ability to lead and coordinate multi-agency efforts
- Strong communication and consultation skills
- Proficiency in using Information Technology for case management
- Understanding of safeguarding and statutory guidance
- Experience with de-escalation strategies and family engagement
- Knowledge in the Signs of Safety and Family Outcomes Star models
- Ability to contribute to service evaluation and development
