What the Job Involves
The Head of Revenues is responsible for ensuring a high-performing, well-managed Local Taxation Revenue Collection Service within the Council. You will direct and lead the provision of high-quality, cost-effective services to meet the Council's policy objectives. Key responsibilities include:
- Leading all aspects of Local Taxation Revenue Collection operations.
- Overseeing overall debt and setting monitoring arrangements.
- Managing a team of 37 FTEs, a £3m budget, and income collection of £164m Council Tax and £98m Business Rates.
- Fostering effective relationships with Elected Members and stakeholders.
- Implementing fair income collection practices and modern processes.
- Driving a 'Digital by Desire' approach and managing large-scale budgets.
- Compiling and implementing business plans aligned with strategic and financial planning.
- Maximizing the value of Government grants and fostering a high-performing, customer-focused culture.

- Degree-level education or equivalent experience
