Who You Are
You are an experienced social worker with a substantial background in statutory Children’s Social Care settings. You possess a recognized professional Social Work Qualification and ideally hold a Practice Educator qualification, or are willing to obtain this within the first year of employment. With an understanding of the frameworks such as The 1989 Children Act and Adoption and Children Act 2002, you demonstrate expertise in complex situations and have a commitment to equality, public service, and the council’s core values.
What the Job Involves
The role involves delivering an integrated social work service within a Resilience framework, responding to complex situations involving children and their families. You will lead in specialist areas and support less experienced social workers, particularly in managing higher levels of risk and producing concise, informative reports. Additionally, the job entails maintaining updated professional registration and engaging proactively with the Workforce Development Program. The position also requires working collaboratively with other agencies to promote positive outcomes and safeguard children effectively.
