What the Job Involves
The role of Revenues Officer within the Recovery Team involves delivering an efficient and effective revenue collections and recovery service, ensuring council tax information is processed promptly and accurately from various sources. You will be responsible for setting up accounts, applying reliefs, discounts, and exemptions, and instigating recovery procedures as necessary. You will handle inquiries from taxpayers via phone, email, letter, or in person, adhering to customer care standards. Furthermore, you will support court-related activities, assist with complex complaint resolution, and engage in specialist recovery projects. You will maintain a deep understanding of relevant legislation and support initiatives to improve service delivery and maximize revenue collection.
