What the Job Involves
As a Southwark Cleaning Operative, your primary responsibility is to execute comprehensive cleaning duties across the council’s estates and highways. This involves maintaining corridors, utility rooms, balconies, entrance lobbies, lifts, landings, and external spaces. You will use appropriate equipment for sweeping, mopping, scrubbing floors, cleaning walls, handling refuse, and attending to major spillages. You will also participate in training sessions, ensure security protocols are followed, and maintain your cleaning equipment effectively. Health and safety practices, as well as the Council's Equality and Diversity Policy, must be adhered to at all times.
