Who You Are
You are an individual with a good level of education to at least GCSE standard, particularly in English and Maths. You have experience of working in an office environment, ideally within a legal setting, and possess knowledge of office systems and computer applications like MS Office. You are detail-oriented, possess strong communication skills, and can manage your workload efficiently under tight deadlines. You are adaptable and can handle sensitive material with confidentiality. Additionally, you are a team player who can work independently with minimal supervision.
What the Job Involves
The role primarily involves providing clerical and administrative support to the Child Care Team and occasionally to other divisions. Key responsibilities include maintaining systems for the renewal of interim orders, preparing documents for legal proceedings, managing calls and inquiries, diary management, and updating case management systems. You will assist in the preparation and distribution of documents, coordinate solicitor attendance at Child Protection Conferences, issue applications, and file legal documents. The role also involves administrative tasks like filing, photocopying, and data input for information systems. You may also contribute to office procedures and help gather statistical data.
