We are seeking an Experienced Social Worker to join the Fostering and Kinship Service at Worcestershire County Council Children’s Services, rated Good overall by Ofsted. You are someone who acts professionally and in a timely manner to protect children from harm.
What the job involves
The Social Worker will work in partnership with children and families to address their social, emotional, and environmental needs, safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the most vulnerable. You will assess risks and needs, coordinate services to improve their quality of life, and ensure the appropriate use of resources. You will carry out statutory tasks, possibly represent the Authority in court, attend meetings, and create outcome-focused plans. The role involves participating in supervision and development programs and may require travel throughout the county.
Skills
- Professional qualification in social work
- Current Social Work England registration
- Experience with Children and Families work
- Competence in Social Work assessments
- Knowledge of fostering regulations and standards
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively
- Strong inter-personal and organisational skills
- Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Good IT and assessment skills
- Liaison and negotiation skills
