What the Job Involves
As a Payroll Team Leader, you will manage a diverse team of 12 members, overseeing payroll operations for corporate and school staff while ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and Council policies. You will develop and implement processes to enhance payroll services, provide specialist advice, and collaborate with internal and external partners to maintain the smooth operation of the Oracle payroll system. You will also handle payroll issues, lead payroll system transformations, and represent the Council in dealings with external bodies.
Skills
- In-depth knowledge of PAYE, tax, and national insurance regulations
- Proven track record in payroll service delivery and administration
- Experience leading and motivating a team
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Knowledge of Oracle payroll system
- Experience with policy development and process improvement
- Professional qualification or significant experience in payroll
