You have experience working with individuals who have learning disabilities and are able to offer both physical and emotional support. You should possess a strong commitment to promoting equality, dignity, and independence among those in your care.
What the Job Involves
This role involves supporting adults with disabilities to achieve planned goals and outcomes by participating in the care planning, monitoring, and review process. You will organize and lead activities within the community and service while ensuring adherence to organizational policies and safeguarding measures. The role requires flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays, as well as participating in the supervision and appraisal process for performance management.
Skills
- NVQ Level 2 certification
- Manual handling and safe medication administration
- Knowledge of infection control and epilepsy awareness
- Ability to handle challenging behaviors
- Effective communication with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to plan and support access to activities
- Report writing and information recording
- Understanding of person-centered approaches
- Experience with using concepts of Valuing People Now
